Job Description

To contribute to Catalyst Workplace Activation's sales volume and profit margins while providing a consistently focused high level of customer service to all clients. Drive customer satisfaction while innovating and ensuring efficient order processing from beginning to end. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Qualify opportunities as they are presented while maintaining your day to day time management. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties, just the essential function of the position. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.       Customer Sales and Business Development

  • Respond quickly and courteously to customer requests for product proposals (including Call-In and Walk-In customers)
  • Work with customers to determine needs, qualify opportunities and provide best solutions
  • Consistently follow up with customers to assure acceptance of all proposals, and manage the effective flow of communication and information exchange between the customer and Catalyst Workplace Activation
  • Actively pursue new business development and maintain profitable and mutually beneficial relationships
  • Use database marketing to target prospects
  • Provide innovative solutions
  • Prepare project status reports for clients as needed
  • Resolve punch list items to ensure customer satisfaction

 

2.       Customer Experience

  • Clearly define customer objectives
  • Act as primary liaison between assigned customer(s) and Catalyst Workplace Activation
  • Committed to long term relationships with the customer
  • Ensure that customer objectives are met
  • Deliver results that exceed customer's expectations
  • Prepare project status reports for clients as needed
  • Resolve punch list items to ensure customer satisfaction

3.       Business/Financial

  • Manage contractual terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, discounts, when necessary.
  • Identify new service and product opportunities within assigned customer account(s).

 

4.     Design

  • Use technology to design for small clients up to 6 stations
  • Prepare finish options for client review
  • Prepare finish schedules
  • Design single checks

5.     Project Management

  • Attend construction meetings
  • Manage schedules
  • Site verifications

 

6.          Order Management

  • Prepares pricing of furniture and creates quotation within Catalyst operating system
  • Verifies accuracy of pricing
  • Monitor shipment status with vendors
  • Ensure the timely invoicing of all focused account orders
  • Coordinate return authorizations, freight claims, credit memos and warranty issues
  • Maintain current order status within the business operating system

 

7.          Delivery and Installation

  • Coordinate deliveries and installations through our local Operations Team and Herman Miller Dealer Network when appropriate
  • Communicate expected shipment status
  • Prepare paperwork for delivery and installation
  • Coordinate pre-install and post-install meetings

 

Qualifications

  1. Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years proven customer service and sales experience required
  • 2 years experience in a professional office setting
  • Minimum 2 years furniture industry experience preferred

 

  1. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet
  • Knowledge of EASI, CORE, AutoCAD LT, Z-Axis, and CAP applications preferred
  • Knowledge of construction, architecture, design and furniture preferred
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service, organizational, multi-tasking and detail skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Team player that is positive and energetic
  • Commitment to enhance the customer experience
  • Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines in an environment of fluctuating priorities
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills

 

Equipment Used

Computer including dealer business operating system, fax, copy machine, printers, Microsoft Office suite and the internet

 

Working Conditions

Cross functional work team with little supervision
